  1. For a crispy skin, try a Tablespoon of corn starch mixed in with the flour and seasonings. I guarantee crispier skin.

    1. @James Maul Baking powder makes chicken skin crispy? How much do you use with flour mixture?

  2. I tried your recipe, really nice.
I worked at KFC in the early 90s, it was just dipped in water with powdered milk and egg mix. No buttermilk. I think was cooked in shortening too or shortening/oil mix. Can’t quite remember now. But the pressure cookers are the key ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Just made this recipe this evening. Used it for wings. AWESOME!!! I have tried other recipes for air fried chicken. They DO NOT COMPARE! This has become my go to fried chicken recipe.

    1. @Awenda your digestion will effectively shut down for about 24 to 72 hours all depends on how much you took I only say about that much because to take anymore is absolutely horrible tasting

  4. Great explanation of the air fryer. I ordered the Omorc because you explained it so well. It was also a lot less expensive than others. Can’t wait to get it in the mail so I can try your recipe. Thanks :o)

  7. I LOVE the sounds of this recipe!

If I could figure out a way to replace buttermilk with an ingredient that’s Ketogenic friendly, I’d LOVE this recipe!

Perhaps I’ll bypass the buttermilk bath, & just go with the seasonings.
HOPEFULLY it’ll work out for me! I’m cooking it tonight for dinner tonight as I write this!

    1. I’ll tell you this. As a former KFC employee. Unless things changed. I don’t remember using buttermilk. Straight water. Unless it was extra crispy. Then it got marinated.

  8. I can’t wait to try this out I just got a air fryer for Christmas from my daughter and by the way you are gorgeous and I love your uplifting, positive and happy personality. The world would be a much better place with a lot more people like you๐Ÿ‘

  9. Rebecca, you are hilarious. I so appreciate when someone enjoys who they are and leans into it. Have been on the fence about an air fryer (a VERY late adopter), but your video just cast the deciding vote.

    1. I love mine. My mom got me an instant pot for Christmas and I fell in love with their pressure cooker so this Christmas my husband got me the instant pot air fryer and itโ€™s amazing. So much you can do with it!

  10. Rebecca thank you so much for this delicious recipe! Ive made it 3 times and still craving more! Yummy!

  13. P.S, whether itโ€™s the original or new owners version of the recipe, Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s still great to try at home. Which I definitely will. Thanks ๐Ÿ™ for posting! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    1. @Rebecca Brand There are no new owners recipes. The Sanders family still owns exclusive rights to the spices, and they have to buy from them. They are called little bags of gold due to their cost to the franchisees. That is why they try to push other items and extra crispy where they don’t have to pay for the spices.

  14. Thank you for this! I just got my airfryer today and naturally looked for fried chicken recipes๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ—
Your enthusiasm can only be understood if you have a passion for food. Well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

  15. Iโ€™m cooking this tonight! ๐Ÿ˜‹Thank you for the recipe! ๐ŸŒทMany blessings to you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

  16. I love your enthusiasm! Thanks so much for sharing! I’ll be trying this recipe soon!

  17. I’m sure this recipe is very good, but I’m pretty sure the KFC I remember (I haven’t eaten it in a long time) also had sage. Sage, pepper and garlic were the things that stood out the most to me.

  18. If you want a crispier skin from an air fryer, add a tablespoon of baking powder.
If you want that classic texture of the coating, add some rice flour to the flour mix, it sticks and provides that clingy flour texture.

    1. Thank you for writing S B I really love your good idea! Keep them coming and keep writing comments on my videos, nice that you are here!

  19. Thank you Rebecca for this recipe. I’m gonna try it tomorrow. I have been fascinated by KFC since I was a kid and my parents used to deny it to us because we didn’t have a lot of money. Nowadays I get cravings for it and eat it occasionally, but in Australia KFC is quite expensive (like other take away food here). Plus they cook their chicken with Canola oil and it has a bad aftertaste. I’ve been looking for a good counterfeit recipe for ages and I think this is as good as I’ll get. Plus it’s inspired me to maybe buy an airfryer. Mmmmmm, chicken.

    1. Terrific! thank you for your great comment, but I have to say I like my VERIFIED KFC spice recipe better, this one had too much pepper, the wikipedia was just wrong.

    2. Yes, over here even the smell coming from a KFC is quite sickening. It smells like rancid over used Canola Oil. I find it disgusting, but that may just be me. Going to try this recipe though. If you have not already purchased an airfryer make sure you get one with a square basket, utilises the space a lot better. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿฆ˜

    3. @cudgee The taste is okay, but in the last few years KFC chicken has gotten me feeling sick, don’t know why. Is it the oil or grease?.
